Applications for Regional Extension Activities Funding Now Open

2024 BCRC regional activities funding program now open

The Beef Cattle Research Council (BCRC) is pleased to announce that the funding program for regional extension initiatives has been renewed and applications are now being accepted. The application deadline is June 14, 2024, at 11:59 PM MT.

Funding is available for, but not limited to, events. The extension events eligible for funding must involve beef producers and be aligned with the Canadian Beef Research and Technology Strategy. While recurring event sponsorship is not eligible, innovative extension activities held independently or in conjunction with existing events will be considered.

Preference will be given to:

  • new and innovative engagement ideas such as presenting information in a new format or demonstrating a new technology
  • CowBytes training sessions
  • workshops or tours related to water quality, water management and winter and summer water system choices and maintenance

Applicants may apply to receive up to a maximum of $5,000 in funding per activity. Matching funding is encouraged, but not a requirement. Funding will be awarded to proposals that most closely meet the evaluation criteria. Activities must be completed by summer 2025.

Applications are to be submitted using the online form no later than June 14, 2024. Successful applicants will be notified via email by mid-August 2024.
